Herbert O’Quinn,73, of Sulphur passed away on May 22, 2018 in his residence surrounded by his family. Herbert enjoyed hunting, fishing, and following his nieces and nephews rodeoing. He was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church and worked as a supervisor for the waste water plant in Sulphur.
Herbert is survived by his four children, Stephanie, Jeffery, and Richard O’Quinn all of Sulphur and Gregory O’Quinn of Shreveport; 2 grandchildren, Derrick and Auburnee Haught; 3 brothers, Henry, Horace and wife Eunice, and James and wife Clariece O’Quinn; sister, Jean Goldman and husband James; sister-in-law, Carolyn Lacomb and husband Robert “B.O.” and Sonja Couch and husband Kerry; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Deanna O’Quinn; brother, Johnny O’Quinn, 2 sisters, Annie O’Quinn and Lou Robbins; daughter-in-law, Laura O’Quinn; mother-in-law, Nola Richard; brother-in-law, Larry Richard; father, Guestan “Friday” O’Quinn; mother, Edith Ellender and step-father, Leo Ellender.
A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at 10 A.M. at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Carlyss with Father Luke Krzanowski, M.S. officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 from 5-9 P.M. with a Cursillo Rosary at 6:00 P.M. at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. Visitation will continue on Thursday, May 24 from 8 A.M. until time of leaving for the church. Cremation will follow the mass with a burial at Mimosa Pines Cemetery in Carlyss on Friday.
