Hilda M. Touchet, 89, of Lake Charles, died Saturday October 12, 2013 at a local care facility following an extended illness. Mrs. Touchet was born in Crowley on September 19, 1924 to Alfred and Eva Stafford Magnon. She was a graduate of Crowley High School and resident of Lake Charles for the past 53 years. She graduated from Jane Demmon Beauty School in Lake Charles and retired as co-owner of Touchet's grocery. She was an active member of St. Margaret's Catholic Church and served in the Catholic Daughters of St. Margaret until her health prevented her from attending services. Mrs. Touchet was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Hazel Embry, beloved husband, Elmo Touchet, and a daughter, Mary Eilene McGhee. Those left to honor and cherish her memory are four children, Ronald Touchet and wife Vicki, Lake Charles; Shelia Stroh, Lake Charles: Kathleen Lutz and husband Dennis, Jefferson City, MO; and Michael Touchet and wife Loretta; son-in-law, John McGhee, Houston, TX; brother, Ira Magnon and wife Ora, Crowley; seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home on Tuesday October 15 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a Rosary to be recited at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Wednesday from 9:00 AM until 10:15 AM at the funeral home. A Funeral Mass will be observed from St. Margaret Catholic Church at 11:00 AM Wednesday October 16 with Father Bill Miller serving as celebrant. Entombment will follow at Consolota Cemetery.
