Hilda Marie Norris

Hilda Marie Norris, 92, passed away on April 20, 2018.

She was born on March 11, 1926 in Alexandria, Louisiana to Romain and Alma Shaw Guillory. She enjoyed being with her family and friends and will be remembered as an avid golfer, once making a hole-in-one; and for her love of traveling, and taking many mother/daughters trips. She also enjoyed both party and duplicate Bridge. She was a member of the Faculty Wives Club at McNeese State University and enjoyed participating in the “Lunch Bunch” and “Sewing Club” with her friends.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Cynthia Norris O’Brien, Terry Norris Kunz and husband Dr. Terry Kunz and Patricia Norris Smith and husband Kenny Ray Smith; sister, Ruth Guillory Gerson; grandchildren, Kimberly O’Brien Stephens, John Jude O’Brien, Robert Norris Smith, Kathleen Smith Douglas, Brian Joseph Smith, Christie Smith Perry, Michael Paul Travieso, Dr. Jennifer Lynne Travieso, Lt. Matthew Ryan Travieso; and 8 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dr. John Norris, Jr; son, John M. Norris III; and sisters, Eloise G. Gilbert and Estelle G. Stutes.

Her funeral service will be held at 1 PM on Thursday, April 26, 2018 at Johnson Funeral Home. Deacon Glenn Viau will officiate. Burial will follow the service in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 11 AM until 1 PM at the funeral home.
