Hilda Wilks Manuel

Hilda Wilks Manuel, 90, of Lake Charles passed away on Saturday, July 18, 2015 in a local hospital. Mrs. Wilks was born on September 18, 1924 in Church Point, LA and lived most of her life in Lake Charles. She was one of the very first hired employees for the Lake Charles K-Mart store where she retired after many years. Mrs. Wilks loved being outdoors and tending to her flowers and garden. Those left to cherish her memory are a daughter, Prescilla Murphy (Ervin) of Washington State; three sons, Aubrey Manuel (Elizabeth) of Moss Bluff, Larry Manuel (Rhonda) of Lake Charles, and Jerry Manuel (Helen) of LeBleu Settlement; three sisters; one brother; ten grandchildren; and twelve great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 9:00 AM on Monday, July 20, 2015 at Prien Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Sunday from 1:00 PM until 6:00 PM.
