Homer D. Stockton, 81, passed away June 15, 2011 in a local hospital. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2011 at 2 p.m. in Robison Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lonnie Gothrup officiating. Burial will follow in Big Woods Cemetery in Edgerly, LA., under the direction of Robison Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Friday, June 17, 2011 from 5-9 p.m. at the funeral home and will resume on Saturday at 9 a.m. until time of the service. Homer was a native of Oklahoma and a longtime Vinton resident. He served his country in the US Army and worked many years as an electrician for the IBEW Local. He was a member of Houston River Baptist Church and attended the Mavericks Sunday school class. Homer is survived by his wife, Florine Stockton of Vinton; son, Derrell Bruce Thomas and wife, Esther of Los Angles, CA.; two sisters, Iola Franklin and Lula Mae Kidman both from the state of Washington; four grandchildren, Micah Thomas, Joel Thomas and fiance Ashley, Naomi Kepellas and husband, Marc, Roy Finken and wife, Dee Ann and two great grandchildren, Daniel and Morrison.
