Howard Anthony LeLeux, 83, of Lake Charles, LA, died on Friday, August 18, 2017 in his residence.
Mr. LeLeux was born April 2, 1934 in Gueydan, LA, where he was raised and has lived the past forty-six years in Lake Charles. He served his country during the Korean Conflict in the U.S. Army, where he was a paratrooper, successfully completing thirty-two jumps. Mr. LeLeux worked for Southern Pacific Railroad for twenty-five years as a Gang Foreman. He was a member of St. Margaret Catholic Church, the VFW and the American Legion. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking and loved entertaining and guiding at the duck camp in Gueydan. He had a passion for French music and sat in with countless bands around the local area to play harmonica, scrub boards, spoons, and triangles. Mr. LeLeux will be remembered for his jokes and his love for dancing and his vegetable garden, but true passion was for his family.
Mr. LeLeux is survived by his sons, Raymond A. LeLeux and wife Sherry of Simonton, TX, Myron LeLeux and wife Danita Manuel LeLeux, Randall LeLeux and wife Anna and Michael LeLeux, all of Lake Charles; daughter, Roxanne English and husband Bruce of Vinton, LA; ten grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores Hebert LeLeux; parents, Telesmar and Azelina LeLeux; six sisters; one brother; and one granddaughter.
His service will be 11:00 AM on Monday, August 21, 2017 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Father ViJay Eddojin will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home on Sunday from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a rosary at 6:00 PM and continue on Monday from 8:00 AM until the start of the service.
