Howard Andrew "Bubba" Buller

Howard Andrew “Bubba” Buller, age 64, of Sulphur passed away in his residence on March 25, 2016.  

 

Mr. Buller was born on October 6, 1951 in Elton, Louisiana and played for the McNeese Cowboy football team before volunteering for service in the Vietnam War.   He served in the United States Air Force and was a highly decorated Vietnam War Veteran. Mr. Buller worked for Haliburton before owning and operating the Bubba Buller Exxon station in Sulphur and retired from Firestone in 2013.

 

Bubba was devoted to his family and was actively involved in their lives. He was a loving husband and father and an enthusiastic supporter of local sporting events. He was affectionately known as “Bear” to his four grandchildren and loved spending time with them. Mr. Buller was an avid hunter, race car driver, and show car owner as well as active member of the “old man coffee club” at the local McDonald’s.

 

Mr. Buller is survived by his wife of 34 years, Meloni Marshall Buller; one son, Cody D. Buller of Westlake and his fiancé, Lauren McNeese; one daughter, Kellie LeAnna Buller and Jeffrey Whatley of Sulphur; four grandchildren, Spirit Braneff, Storm Braneff, Zade Deklyn Braneff, and Mikhail Jude-Paul Braneff; and siblings, Paul Buller of Ragley, Mary Olsen of Houston, Texas, Kathy Salcher of Austin, Texas, and Lee Buller of Elton.

 

He is preceded in death by his parents.

 

Visitation will be held at Johnson Funeral Home on Lake Street in Lake Charles on Thursday, March 31 from 1 to 3 PM with a memorial service immediately following at 3 PM.
