Just as his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Howard was a gifted carpenter and spent over 35 years in his familys carpentry business. He was a beloved husband, dad, son, brother, cousin, friend, and uncle/godfather to his beloved niece, Regan. But his favorite role was Poppy to his precious grandchildren. Especially, he is a hero through his gift to others as a organ donor. His wife, Dana, and family were important to Howard. He was a man of love and passion for people and life. Howard is survived; by his wife, Dana Rogers Abshire, and children, Cammie Fuller and husband, Matt, Nicholas Simpson, and John Trouth; grandchildren, Carter, Callen and Gracie; his brother Anthony Abshire and wife Kaci, niece, Regan; his sister, Jada Abshire, all of Sulphur. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Howard is preceded in death by her parents, Wilson Abe Joseph Abshire, Jr and Ethlyn Richard Abshire; and grandparents, Alduce Richard, Rose Richard, Audrey Jo Abshire Moore and Wilson Abshire, Sr. An account, The Howard Abshire Memorial Fund, has been set up at the Whitney National Bank to help cover funeral expenses.
