Howard Lee Martinsen

Howard (Marty) Lee Martinsen, 64, of Moss Bluff, LA, died Friday, May 26, 2017 in a local hospital.

Mr. Martinsen was born October 3, 1952 in Norfolk, VA and has lived in Moss Bluff for over forty years.  He owned and operated his own a/c and heating company and later worked for Redd Properties.  He always found joy in helping others in the community.  Marty was a member of First Pentecostal Church of Gillis.  He enjoyed gardening, fishing, singing and playing his guitar, but his true passion in life was for his family.

Mr. Martinsen is survived by his wife of forty-four years, Linda Martinsen; daughter, Tina Ellender and husband John; son, Charles (Rock) Martinsen; siblings, Janice Georgallis, Paula Lehmiller, Patty Heinz, Pamela Donan-Tim, Pete Wells and Earlene Windley and two grandchildren, Andrew and Abigail Butzbach

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Martinsen and wife Alice; mother, Mildred “Peggy” Voight and husband Paul; and brother, Thomas Martinsen.

His funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Friday, June 2, 2017 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel.  Rev. Rob Stevens will officiate.  Burial will follow in New Ritchie Cemetery in Moss Bluff.  Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 AM until the start of the service.
