Howard Nicholas Reina

Howard Reina, 88, passed away in a local hospital on February 4, 2018.

He was born on August 24, 1929 to Joseph and Lena Leone Reina in Lake Charles, LA.  Mr. Reina will be remembered for his love of gardening, hunting, fishing and watching his eight grandchildren play ball and dance. He was also very happy to live to see his three great grandchildren born.

Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Paul Reina (Julie) of Lake Charles, LA, David Reina of Reeves, Nancy Womack of Indian Village; stepdaughter, Renee Halay (Michael) of Nathrop, CO; and his brother and best friend, J C Reina (Madge) of Grand Chenier, LA.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Nicholas Reina, Lucy Klock, and Bess Bellinger; and his loving wife, Marjorie Rhomer Reina.

His funeral service will be held on Friday February 9, 2018 at 10:30 AM at Johnson Funeral Home. Monsignor Jace Eskind will officiate. Burial will follow the service in Prien Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 5 PM until 8 PM. A rosary will be recited on Thursday at 6 PM by Mr. Reina’s nieces, Rorisa Reina Pearce and Renee Reina. Visitation will resume on Friday from 9 AM until the start of the service.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Peter Karam and the staff at the Memorial Specialty Unit at St. Patrick’s Hospital for their compassion and care that was far beyond expectations.
