Hubert Burton Matatall

Burton Matatall, 85, of Lake Charles passed away, Wednesday, October 13, 2010 in his residence.

He was a native and life resident of Lake Charles and attended St. Charles Academy. Mr. Matatall was a Veteran of W. W. II, serving in the U. S. Army Air Corp. He worked as a pipeline welder and was a member of Plumbers Steamfitters Local 106 and Pipeline Local #798 in Tulsa, OK. He was a member of the Cathedral of Immaculate Conception.

He is survived by his wife of twenty-eight years, Dolores Uridiales Matatall of Lake Charles; stepdaughter, Betty Lou Hampton and her children, Lisa and Chuck Hampton; stepson, Davy Lee Thacker and his children, Davy Lee Thacker, Jr., and John and Jeffery Thacker. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Helen Johnson Matatall, and step grandson, Hank Thacker.

His Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 AM, Saturday, October 14, 2010 at the Cathedral of Immaculate Conception. Monsignor Jace Eskind will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Friday with a rosary at 6:00 PM, and continue from 8:30 AM until time 9:30 AM, Saturday, in the funeral home.
