Hubert George Johnson

Hubert George Johnson, 69, of Lake Charles, LA died Monday, May 21, 2012 in the comfort of his home.

Mr. Johnson was born in Dural, LA and has lived most of his life in Lake Charles. He worked from 1959 1969 as a Longshoreman for the Port of Lake Charles. He also worked 8 1/2 years as a Patrol Officer for the Basile Police Department. Mr. Johnson was an avid outdoorsman, having enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing.

He leaves to honor his memory, five sons, Clifford Ottis Johnson of Ragley, David Wayne Johnson and wife Judith of Erath, Kevin Patrick Johnson and wife Kimberly of Lake Charles, Jason Johnson and fiance' Molly Stiarwalt of Sulphur and Ethan Allen Johnson and fiance' Edith LaVergne of Ragley; step-mother, Esther Johnson, Lake Charles; one brother, Robert Dale Johnson of Longville; one sister, Dorothy Andry of Longville; seven grandchildren, Kevin Johnson, Jr., Katie Johnson, Blake Johnson, David A. Johnson, Emily Johnson, P-Nut Fontenot and Jasper Windwehen; three great-grandchildren, Riley Johnson and Hunter and Mason Fontenot and his dear friend, Donald Cormier.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Adam and Eve Johnson and one brother, Rodney Lee Johnson.

The family wishes to extend sincere gratitude to daughter-in-law, Kimberly, who was the primary caretaker and helped to carry him home.

Memorial services will be at 3:00 PM Wednesday, May 23, 2012 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Chaplain Paul Estes will officate. Visitation Wednesday will be from 1:00 PM until the time of service in the funeral home.
