Hubert John Daigle, 89, of Lake Charles died at 11:48 AM Wednesday, December 17, 2014 in his residence. Mr. Daigle was born on December 16, 1925 to the parents of Madelena and Gilbert Daigle in Port Barre, Louisiana. He was a graduate of Landry High School. Mr. Daigle served in the United States Navy during World War II. Mr. Daigle was the owner and operator of Daigle Petroleum and Tire for many years. He also worked for Gulf States Utilities and Texaco. He was a founding member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Mr. Daigle was a member of the Knights of Columbus and a member of St. Vincent de Paul. He was very politically active in the Lake Charles area for many years. Mr. Daigle loved to travel with his family and go camping across the country. Those left to cherish his memory are his five children, Kathy Daigle and husband Sandy Schexnailder of Grand Prairie, Texas, Randy Daigle and wife Sally of Lake Charles, Louisiana, Kent Daigle and wife Rae of Welsh, Louisiana, Sherry Ginter and husband Tim of Crown Point, Indiana, and Kim McFarland of Lake Charles, Louisiana, twelve grandchildren, Tad, Tyler, Amanda, Amelia, Destin, Wyatt, Timothy, Nik, Leya, Drew, John, and Win, six great grandchildren, Mylee, Tristan, Addilyn, Zoey, Molly, and Rosie. He is preceded in death by his parents, ten brothers and sisters, and his wife of 61 years Margie Daigle. The family would like to give a special thanks to the care givers, Lynette Charles, Sunday Guidry, Carla Bartie, Mary Bellard and Bernadette Duplechain and to the employees of Heart of Hospice. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, December 22, 2014 at 1:00 PM at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Burial will be in Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Monsignor James Gaddy will be the celebrant. Visitation will begin on Sunday for everyone from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a Cursillo Rosary to be held at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Monday at 11:00 AM until 12:30 PM.
