Hugh Eric Musgrove

Eric was called home by "The ONE" who loved him dearly on Friday, February 11, 2011 in Austin, TX.


Eric was a native of Sulphur and a 1990 graduate of Sulphur High School. He received a bachelor's degree in Speech and Mass Communication from Louisiana Tech in 1994. Most of his work was computer based / Web Design. He also lived and worked in Portland, OR and Athens, GA. Eric was a member of Lake Charles Bible Church. In Austin, he attended Gateway Community Church and enjoyed the Bible Studies of The Gathering Place. Eric was secure in his faith in Christ and loved to share his faith with others. He enjoyed talking about many of the promises of God. Eric's passion was music and he loved creating and playing music on his guitar.


Eric is survived by his parents, Paul and Avis Musgrove of Sulphur, LA; his cats, Dylan and Sebastian; special aunts, Mittie Cryer of Sulphur, LA, Francis Greason and husband Bob of Allentown, PA, and Nyhla Hawes of Lake Charles; close cousins, Cynthia Carr of Sulphur and Cathy Cryer of Miami, FL; Uncle Sonny and Aunt Jean; "adopted grandparents", Eunice and Coolidge Fontenot of Lake Charles; and many other cousins and friends.


Eric was preceded in death by his brother, Kevin Musgrove.


His funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverends Don Barrett and Phil Carpenter will officiate. Burial will follow in Bilbo Cemetery in Fields, LA. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and continue on Wednesday from 8:00 AM until the start of the service.
