Hunter Wayne Curphy, 21, of Lake Charles passed away Sunday, November 17, 2013. Mr. Curphy was a lifelong resident of Lake Charles. He was a 2010 graduate of Barbe High School, attended Northwestern State University, where he was on the Dean's list, Centenary College of Louisiana, and McNeese State University. A Biology major, Hunter enjoyed studying Science, Wildlife and Conservation. He also enjoyed the outdoors, sailing, camping, playing guitar, loved music and especially loved his Toyota Four Runner. He will be most remembered for his kind, caring and loving heart, his selflessness and willingness to help others. Hunter will be affectionately remembered as "Hunter- Bunter". He leaves to cherish his memory, his father Kallen W. Curphy and wife Cindy Webb; mother, Wendy Curphy Aguillard and husband Brandon and brother, Garett W. Curphy, all of Lake Charles; paternal grandparents, Don Curphy and James and Tibby Lynch, all of Lake Charles; maternal grandparents, Ronnie and Jackie Kibodeaux of Lake Charles and Dave and Marion Aguillard of Sulphur; three uncles, Trent Curphy of Kingwood, TX and Shawn Curphy and Ryan Kibodeaux, both of Lake Charles; two aunts, Charmaine Sullivan of Baytown, TX and Lori Kibodeaux of Lake Charles; many cousins and friends. Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Friday November 22, 2013 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Ronnie Burke will officiate. Visitation Thursday will be from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and will continue Friday from 11:00 AM until 1:00 the time of service in the funeral home.
