Idell Benoit Courville

God Bless You Mom and Maw you are finally going home.


Idell Benoit Courville, 91, of Hayes passed away at 1:35 AM, Saturday, January 28, 2012 in a Lake Charles hospital.


She was a native and lifelong resident of Hayes and a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church.


Survivors include three daughters Barbara Leger and husband Isaac; and Freda Myers all of Hayes; Tida Rose "Bonnie" Bourgeois and husband Joe of Lacassine; two sons Junior James Courville of Lacassine and Larry Courville of LeBleu Settlement, two grandsons whom she raised, Rob Corville and Stoney Courville and wife Amanda; forty grandchildren, sixty-eight great grandchildren, and twenty-five great great grandchildren; one brother Frank Benoit of Grand Lake.

She was preceded in death by her husband Avia (J.B.) Courville; one son Norman Courville; two daughters Patsy and Brenda Courville, grandson Steven Leger, great grandson Gavin Braud, and granddaughter Tammy Courville; her parents and several brothers and sisters.


Her Funeral Mass will be at 3:00 PM Monday January 30, 2012 in St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Bell City. Reverend Emmanuel Tanu will officiate. Burial will be in DeRouen-Lorrain Cemetery in Hayes, LA. Visitation will begin at 3:00 PM and ongoing until 2:30 PM, Monday in the Hayes Hall (the Old St. Daniel's Catholic Hall). There will be a Cursillo Rosary recited at 7:00 PM, Saturday at the Hall.


Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons, Tony Leger, Ernest Myers, Robert, Joseph, and Larry Courville and Joseph Bourgeois.


The family would like to thank Dr. Winn and the staff of Christus St. Patrick Hospital for the Love and Compassion they gave to this great lady.
