Ilene Gilsinger Jones, 81, of Lake Charles passed away at 1:38 PM, Wednesday, December 29, 2010 in a local hospital.
She was a native of Charleston, Arkansas, and lived most of her life in Lake Charles. Mrs. Jones was a member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church and the Catholic Daughters of America, and a very devout Catholic. Ilene was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, who loved her family and spending time with them. Mrs. Jones will be remembered for her bubbly disposition and constant smile. She was greatly loved and will be dearly missed.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband of fifty-nine years, Rodney Jones; four children, Randy Jones and wife Beverly of Lake Charles, Janet Peoples of DeRidder, Eric Jones and wife Rhonda of Sulphur, and Brian Jones and wife Mona of Lake Charles; daughter-in-law, Nancy Jones of Lake Charles; eleven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren; one brother, Bill Gilsinger of Athens, GA. She was preceded in death by her son, William L. "Bill" Jones; her parents, three sisters, and two brothers.
Her Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 AM, Saturday, January 1, 2011 at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Reverend Nathan Long will officiate. Burial will be in Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM, Friday, with a Catholic Daughter's Rosary at 6:00 PM, and continue from 8:00 AM until 9:30 AM, Saturday, in the funeral home.
