Inez Benoit

Inez Benoit,93, of Sulphur passed away on October 15, 2013 in her residence. Inez was born in Gueydan, LA and lived in Sulphur since 1941. She was the owner and operator of Benoit Grocery Store from 1953 until 1960 and again from 1964- 1969, and worked at Holly Hill Nursing Home and St. Patricks Hospital as a LPN. Inez was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church and St. Theresas Altar Society. She loved to tell stories to her family, play bingo at the KC Hall, and spend time with her family. Inez was also a seamstress, making over 60 wedding dresses and reupholstering furniture. Inez is survived by her daughter, Loretta Findley of Sulphur; daughter-in-law, Rosalie Tramonte Bertrand of Longville, La; 5 grand children, Jay Benoit and Amanda Benoit James and husband, Chad all of Sulphur, LA, Susan Bertrand Landreneau and husband, Steve and Nick Bertrand all of Longville, LA and Greg Bertrand and wife, Mary of Ragley, America; 7 great grandchildren, Michael, Alison, Haylie, Justin, Dylon and Logan and Killian; and 8 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raphine Benoit; sons, Shelton Joseph Bertrand and Marvin James Benoit; brother and sisters, Mernice Gaspard, Nelius Minton, Nefor Bertrand, and Polycar Bertrand. Pall bearers will be J. J. Benoit, Amanda James, Susan Landreneau, Greg Bertrand, Chad James, Nick Bertrand, Justin Beniot, Dylon Benoit, Logan Benoit, Raymond Guidry, O.J. Gaspard, Michael Landreneau and Ron Benoit. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at 10a.m. at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Carlyss with Father Joe Aquino officiating. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery in Carlyss under the direction of Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Friday, October 18, 2013 from 3-9 p.m. with a rosary at 6 p.m. at the funeral home and will resume on Saturday at the funeral home at 8 a.m. until time of the service.
