Inez Johnson Angerstein

Inez Johnson Angerstein, 78, passed away on August 9, 2017 at a local hospital.

Mrs. Angerstein enjoyed working as a cashier at a local Kroger Grocery Store for around thirty five years. She drove a school bus for Calcasieu Parish Schools. Mrs. Inez was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church. She loved to sing and dance to music. She spent much of her free time watching her kids and grandkids at their extracurricular activities. Her family fondly remembers the meals she would cook for them and her excellent pineapple pie.

She is survived by her husband Ben Alan Angerstein; six children, Johnny “JJ” (Brigitte) Johnson, Phillip (Kathy) Johnson, David (Bridgett) Johnson, Gus Johnson, Kim (Tommy) Rimes, and Jan (Ricky) Whaley; three stepchildren, Ben Angerstein Jr, Donna May, and Debra Thomas; siblings, Jeanette Welch, Ed Landreneau, and Beverly Martin; fourteen grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren with one on the way.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Antoine and Lelma Landreneau; and sister, Francis Granger.

A funeral service will be held at 11AM on Saturday, August 12 at Johnson Funeral Home. Monsignor Danny Torres will officiate. Visitation will be 6PM to 9PM Friday, August 11 at the funeral home. A rosary will be held at 7PM. Visitation will resume Saturday morning at the funeral home at 9AM until the start of the service.   Burial will follow at Prien Memorial Park Cemetery.
