Ira Kenneth Ellender

January 9, 1938 — October 9, 2020

Ira K. “Buddy” Ellender, age 82 passed away Thursday, October 9, 2020 at a local hospital.  Born January 9, 1938, in Hackberry, LA to Adna & Edith Little Ellender.  He dearly loved his children, family, home, farm & cattle, Buddy was happiest on his tractor, baling hay and tending to his cattle.  Buddy attended and graduated from Hackberry High School. He was a member of the Boys Scouts of America, Hackberry Lions Club & St Peters Catholic Church.  He owned the Triple S Little Britches Rodeo Arena and had the time of his life during rodeo season.  Buddy worked for Texaco Oil Company in Hackberry, LA  He will be remembered for his funny humor, stories, and unfailing work ethic.

His loving memory will be cherished and kept alive by his children, Shyla Coyne & husband Bill, Suzanne Cormier & husband Mike, Stephanie Cheaney & husband Randy, Brad Ellender, Danna Benoit and Amy Berwick & husband Jace: his wife Marsha Savoy Ellender;  and sisters, Ruby Lee Gauley and Delores McQueen.  His adored Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren, and numerous Nieces & Nephews.  Buddy was preceded in death by his Father Adna Ellender, Mother Edith Little Ellender, Sister, Flora Bell Trahan and Brothers, George Roy Ellender and Robert Wayne Ellender

Buddy was a wonderful man who loved life, friends and his family.

A special thanks to Dr’s and Nurses at St. Patrick’s Hospital for their compassion and care, during our family’s loss.

Visitation with family will begin from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM Saturday, October 17, 2020 at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson and Robison funeral home following visitation.
