Irene Badon Trahan, 87, of Sulphur passed away on July 29, 2018 in a local hospital. She was a cafeteria manager for the Cameron Parish School Board in Johnson Bayou for over 30 years while also cooking for John Paul Crain hunting camp and Stockwell, Sievert, and Viccellio. Irene and Allen raised their children in Johnson Bayou and lived there until Rita in 2005. She was a member of Johnson Bayou Baptist Church, enjoyed listening to Gospel and Country music and loved spending time with her family and friends. She dearly loved cooking and catering to the people she came in contact with.
Irene is survived by her four children, Nancy Trahan Constance (Johnny), Betty Phillips, Darrell Trahan (Nancy), and Robert Trahan (Connie); 12 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; 6 sibling, Ray Badon, Joseph “Jim” Murphy Badon, Barbara Landry, Stella Stutes, Alice Mae Broussard, and Evelyn Cormier; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Allen Trahan; parents, Alpha and Agnes Badon; 4 silbings, Raymond “Shirley” Badon, Sr.; Martin “Blue” Badon; Lloyd Badon and sister, Jeanette Trahan.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at 10:30 A.M. at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jack Gandy officiating. Burial will be in Johnson Bayou Cemetery under the direction of Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 from 4-9 P.M. at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home with visitation continuing on Wednesday, August 1 at 8 A.M. until time of the service at 10:30 A.M..
