Irene Dorothy Gosling Laubach, 83, of Lake Charles passed away at 9:25 PM on Monday, October 15, 2018 in a local hospital.
Mrs. Laubach was born on April 7, 1935 in Essex, England and moved to the states 47 years ago. She moved to Louisiana 27 years ago where she became a member of the Country Club and had a group of English friends she enjoyed spending time with.
She never met a stranger and loved life to the fullest. Mrs. Laubach enjoyed sewing, making floral arrangements, and doing arts and crafts. She loved her animals but most important to her was her family. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Those left to cherish her memory are daughters, Rosalind Goodwin (Martin) of Lake Charles, Andrea Matte (Christopher) of DeQuincy, and Dawn Chapman of Sulphur; grandchildren, Aaron Goodwin, Meagan Chapman, Seth Matte, Austin Chapman, and Shelby Matte; and great grandchildren, Jewel Lial, Ashlyn Goodwin, and Gabe Goodwin.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Richard Allen Laubach; parents, Dorothy and Edward Gosling; and brothers, Ronald and Douglas Gosling.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, October 19, 2018 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Lamar Huffman will officiate. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Garden. Visitation will begin on Friday from 10:00 AM until the start of the service.
