With laughter, tears, and memories we said goodbye to our Mom, Irene Sullivan, 89, on Sunday, December 31, 2017. Irene was born on January 26, 1928 in Elizabeth, New Jersey and grew up in Linden, New Jersey. She was the eighth child of fifteen siblings. Irene worked for Merek and Co. where she met her husband, Gordon. In 1957, they moved to Sulphur and began their journey of raising their family. She loved reading, playing bingo, earlier on bowling, but most of all to travel. Their travels brought them all across the United States.
Irene is survived by her children, Cindy (Lee) Vincent, Bobby (Daniel) Sullivan, Pat (Karen) Sullivan, and Marilyn Sullivan; her sister, Loretta (WooWoo) Croteau; her brothers, Robert Butchko and JoeBill (Janet) Butchko; her grandchildren, Brandon and Justin Vincent, Abigail and Shelby Sullivan; and great grandchildren, Hannah Bunch and Hallie Vincent. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Gordon; her parents, Helen and Stephen Butchko; her brothers, Steve, John, George, Edward, William and Thomas Butchko; her sisters, Peggy Kasher, Helen Osthoff, Anne Pribila, Marilyn Coste and Carole Modrak.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 10 AM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sulphur with Father Ruben Villarreal officiating. Visitation will be on Friday, January 5, 2018 from 4-8 P.M. with a rosary at 6 P.M. at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. Also a special thanks to Alexis, Lilah, Collyne, Brian,Weston and Kyle for bringing such joy into Grandma’s life.
