Irma Ann Boudreaux Stutes, 90, of Lake Charles passed away on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 in St. Joseph Hospice of Acadiana at The Carpenter House in Lafayette surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Stutes was born on September 2, 1928 in Gueydan and had resided in Lake Charles for more than 60 years. She was a member of St. Margaret Catholic Church. Mrs. Stutes was a devoted mother and grandmother. She took great pride in caring for her family and was very involved in her children and grandchildren’s extracurricular activities.
She enjoyed playing games with her neighbors and also had an interest in planting flowers which was passed on to her children.
Those left to cherish her memory are a son, Chuck Stutes (Kathy) of Lake Charles; daughters, Belinda Burgess (partner, Dianne Broussard) of Lafayette, Sandra Gueringer (William) of Lake Charles, and Debora Vincent (Stafford) of Lake Charles; brothers, Whitney Boudreaux (Phyllis) of New Iberia and Travis Boudreaux (Amelia) of Crowley; seven grandchildren, Valerie Stephenson, Alan Burgess, Jeremy Johnson, Jamie Johnson, Jacqueline Gueringer, Kayla Vincent, and Michael Vincent; and seventeen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Nathan Stutes; parents, Lena and Whitney Boudreaux; brothers, Roy and J.C. Boudreaux; sisters, Frances Boudreaux, Marguerite Morgan, and Cynthia Quebodeaux; and a grandson, LCpl Daniel Gueringer, USMC.
A funeral mass will be held at 9:30 AM on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at St. Margaret Catholic Church. Father Samuel Orsot and Deacon Tony Pousson will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will begin on Friday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a rosary being recited at 6:30 PM. Visitation will resume on Saturday from 8:00 AM until leaving for the church.
