Irma Ruth Stelly 85, passed away on July 17, 2014 in a local care center. She was born in Maybeury, WV and a lifelong resident of Sulphur. LA. Irma worked at Columbia Southern prior to raising her children. She helped in the Sunday School Department and volunteered at the Life Center at Henning Methodist Church in Sulphur. Irma faithfully read her Bible, enjoyed sewing, and spending time with all her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Irma is survived by her children, Maurine Rhodes and husband, Glen, Mary Jane Guidry, Billy Stelly and companion, Bonnie Thompson, Dennis Stelly and wife Rhonda, Tim "Bean Dip" Stelly and wife, Glenda, Nancy Broussard and husband, Remy and Tracy Stelly; 15 grandchildren, Cody, Philip, Justin, Madison, Alexis, Kolby and Makayla Stelly, Cara Granger and husband, Van, Jason Rhodes, Stephanie Hankins and husband, J.D., Leah Singh and husband, Bobby, Lynette Guidry, Leslie Guidry, Tanner Broussard and Lauren Hawkins and husband, Austyn; her honorary grandchildren"; 7 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Bobby Myers. She was preceded in death by her; husband, Maurice Stelly, Jr.; her infant daughter, Patricia Stelly parents, Fred and Anna Myers; son-in-law, Timothy Guidry; brothers, Fred Myers, Jr. and William "Buddy" Myers; and a sister, Dora McCain. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 21, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Henning Methodist Church in Sulphur with Rev. Rachel McConnell-Switzer officiating. Burial will follow in Mimosa Pines Cemetery in Carlyss under the direction of Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 20, 2014 from 5-9 p.m. at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home and will resume on Monday at 9 a.m. until time of the service. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to her sitters, Theresa Callahan, Nadia Gennadievna and Vicky Daigle; West Cal-Cam Hospital; Dr. Maureen Lannan; Dr. Brian Stewart; Cornerstone; High Hope Care Center; Heart of Hospice and Henning Methodist Church for the wonderful care given to their mother.
