Irvin Eugene Marcenac, 83, of Lake Charles, LA died at 4:48 PM on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 in a local care facility.
Mr. Marcenac was born August 11, 1928 in Kinder, LA and has lived in Lake Charles for the past sixty-five years. He was a member of Boulevard Baptist Church. He worked as a truck driver with Dunham Price for more than thirty years, and previously worked for Community Coffee, 7-UP, and Turner Industries. He was also a carpenter and plumber by trade and enjoyed fishing, shrimping, and gardening.
Mr. Marcenac is survived by his wife, Priscilla Fontenot Marcenac of Lake Charles; daughters, Christine Witherwax and husband Roger of Sulphur, Peggy Ramirez of Moss Bluff, and Cindy Rougeou of Moss Bluff; sisters, Yvonne Mott and Nitta Johnson, both of Houma, LA; grandchildren, Angie Herr, Jason Witherwax, Gabrielle Couch, and Aaron Cox; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Earl Marcenac; son-in-law, Joseph Ramirez; and great-granddaughter, Brook Herr.
His funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Friday, April 20, 2012 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Randy Edwards will officiate. Burial will follow in Green Oaks Cemetery in Kinder, LA. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and continue on Friday from 8:00 AM until the start of the service.
