Isabelle "Belle" Trim Newman

Isabelle Trim Newman “Belle,” 90, passed away on December 14, 2024 in Lake Charles, LA. She was born on August 11, 1934 in Abbeville, LA to Fernest Trim and Louise Primeaux Trim.

Although we grieve her absence, Belle will be forever in our hearts as our “Earth Angel.” The Matriarch of our family, she was the most loving, giving, selfless soul. Still, we rejoice in knowing she is reunited with so many loved ones… oh, the reunion they must be having!

Those left to cherish her memory are, her daughter, Susan Cook, her grandchildren, Ashley Newman Sheldon, Aaron Cook, Justin Frick, Trista Nicole Haegle; and her great grandchildren, William P. Newman, Ginger Newman, Tyler J. Cook, Liam Lynch Cook, Kaleigh Shelden and Caleb Shelden.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Louis James Newman; her children, Louis James “Jim” Newman, Jr., Gwen Dell Frick, and Billy Wayne Newman; her grandson, Chad Newman; her brother, John Steve Trim; her sisters, JoAnn Fontenot, Vergie Comeaux and Corine Occhiogrosso.

Her funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, on Friday, December 20, 2024 in the Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles Chapel. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday from 12:00 PM until the start of the service at 1:00 PM.
