Iva Lois Stanfield Wier, 90, of Lake Charles, LA, passed away peacefully at 8:03 PM on Monday, May 2, 2022 in a local care facility.
Mrs. Wier was born April 4, 1932 in Longville, LA and was a graduate of the Ragley School. She lived most of her life in Lake Charles, LA and worked as a secretary for the Department of Transportation and Development in Lake Charles for thirty years. Following her retirement, she continued working for several years at the DOTD Credit Union. She was a member of First Christian Church. She also enjoyed bowling and was active with her bowling league for a number of years.
Mrs. Wier is survived by her only son, William “Neal” Stanfield and wife Rhonda of Ragley, LA; two grandchildren, John Stanfield and wife Stephanie, also of Ragley, LA and Nicole Bush and husband Layne of Anacoco, LA; and four great-grandchildren, Abigail Laurent and husband Tyler, Sam Stanfield, Taylor Bush, and Colby Bush.
She was preceded in death by her first husband of forty-four years and father of her child, William Stanfield; parents, Roland and Nannie Jackson Parsons; one brother; and two sisters.
Her funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, May 6, 2022 at Johnson Funeral Home. Celebrant Steve Shirley will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 AM until the start of the service.
