Ivy Quibodeaux

April 24, 1926 — August 8, 2017

Ivy Paul Quibodeaux was born April 24, 1926, in the Mere-Bosco area, Louisiana, to Joseph and Elise Quibodeaux and passed away in Lake Charles, Louisiana, on August 8, 2017. He was a professional painter by trade and loved to restore old furniture and other items. For enjoyment, he loved to play with his grandchildren, make people laugh, raise a garden and farm animals, fish (or wet a line as he would say) and was a wonderful cook.

He is survived by Louise Quibodeaux, his wife of 74 years, and children: Raymond and Susan Quibodeaux, and their son Paul Quibodeaux; Harold and Dianna Quibodeaux and their children Tammy Tommasi, Sandy Erny and Kristopher Quibodeaux; Ronald and Betty Quibodeaux and children Scott, Brendan, Tiara, Cathy Elliot and Susan Castille; JoAnn and Bob Smith, and daughter Gitana. He is survived by twelve great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and one great-great-grandchild on the way.

He will be sorely missed because of the laughter he brought wherever he was. He will also be missed by his spiritual family, whom he loved. Ivy was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses for many years and loved the Bible truths he shared with others.

He is predeceased by both of his parents, Joseph and Elise Quibodeaux; Sisters, Doris Cormier, Normie Doucet, Ella Bearb, and Elby Soileau; and Brother, Dallas Quibodeaux.

Cremation was entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 10, 2017, at 5:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 2551 Alma Drive, Lake Charles, Louisiana. Jerry Broussard will be officiating.
