Jack L. Porter passed away at home on Monday, July 26, 2021, in Carlyss, Louisiana at the age of 76. He was born on January 6, 1945, in Slidell, Louisiana. Jack was a SSgt in the United States Air Force and served in Vietnam. He was a retired air traffic controller from Bush International Airport in Houston.
Jack is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mona Ann Fluitt Porter; two children, John F. Porter and wife Sophie of Carlyss and Mildred Ann Porter also of Carlyss; 5 grandchildren, Ian, Nicholas, Michael, Madeline and Matthew; one great grandchild, Maycie; one brother, J. Richard Porter of Carefree, Arizona; and one sister, Carol Ann Porter Metternich of Denham Springs, Louisiana. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar L. Porter and Katie Carol Barnes Porter.
A visitation for Jack will be held on Sunday, August 15, 2021, at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home from 2-6 PM. He will be laid to rest in the Southwest Louisiana Veteran’s Cemetery in Jennings, Louisiana in a private ceremony at a later date.
