Jack Seay Benniefiel, Sr., 85, of Lake Charles died Thursday, October 21, 2010 in a local hospital.
Mr. Benniefiel was a lifelong resident of Lake Charles. He served the United States Navy during World War II. Mr. Benniefiel worked all of his life as a Carpenter in the Construction Industry, his last employment was with the State of Louisiana D.O.T.D. He was an avid outdoorsman whom loved hunting, fishing and his little dogs.
Mr. Benniefiel was an admiral man of his generation, leaving many fond memories to his wife, children and grandchildren. He will be most remembered as the "rock" of his family.
He leaves to honor his memory, his loving wife of thirty seven years, Stella Harris Benniefiel of Lake Charles; two sons, Jack Benniefiel, Jr. and fiance' Marylou of Fowlerville, MI and Franklin J. Benniefiel and wife Pamela of Moss Bluff; three daughters, JoAnn Rodgers of Fowlerville, MI, Jo Reaux Pilkerton and husband John of Lake Charles and Dana Guidry and husband Eric of Hayes; ten grandchildren; nine great- grandchildren and three great- great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jay and Josephine Benniefeil; son, Robert William Benniefiel and grandson, Devin Guidry.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Monday, October 25, 2010 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Ritchie Cemetery. Visitation Monday will be from 10:00 AM until the time of service in the funeral home.
