Jackie “Jack” Darrell Chiasson, 73, of Lake Charles passed away Friday, June 17, 2016 in a local hospital, surround by his family.
Mr. Chiasson was a native of Jennings, LA and has lived most of his life in Lake Charles. He was a graduate of LaGrange Senior High School and studied as an Electrician Apprentice through the IBEW Local 861. As a Licensed Electrician, he worked for IBEW Local throughout Louisiana, California, Texas and Canada, and in 1984 moved back to Lake Charles. During his younger years, Mr. Chiasson enjoyed building and racing cars. He was a great cook and a passionate outdoorsman. Jack loved fishing and hunting, taking pride in the full use of his “Louisiana Paradise”. He loved gardening, making the most of his “green thumb” ability to make anything grow. He also enjoyed many years of the Mardi Gras Season with the Krewe de la Noblesse, of which he and his wife, Barbara reigned as King and Queen in 2001. Mr. Chiasson will be remembered as an honorable man of faith and family and a loyal friend.
He leaves to honor his memory, his loving wife, Barbara Harless Chiasson of Lake Charles; three children, Randy Chiasson (Stephanie) of Simi Valley, CA, Melissa Chiasson McGee (Mitch) of Lumberton, TX and Lance Chiasson of Lake Charles; three step-children, Carolyn Broussard Miller (Keith) of Lake Charles, Jerry Scott Broussard (Jennifer) of Lake Charles and Erin Broussard Webb (Mike) of Sulphur; one brother, Robert “Bob” Chiasson (Annette) of Lake Charles; two sisters, Pamela Chiasson Adam (Russell) of Lafayette and Cheryl Chiasson Hullett (Stephen) of Carencro and many nieces and nephews. He also leaves his pride and joy, seven grandchildren, Shalay and Alexa Chiasson, Meagan McGee, Kasey and Blaine Simon and Allie and Jessie-Elizabeth Webb.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Horace and Ruby Istre Chiasson; one brother, Bart Chiasson and his wife Carol.
Funeral services will be at 12:00 PM Monday, June 20, 2016 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Robbie Bacon and Reverend Dave Lang will officiate. Interment will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation Sunday will be from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and will continue Monday from 8:00 AM until the time of service in the funeral home.
