Jackie Mclellan Beck

Jackie Marie McLellan Beck, 65, of Lake Charles, LA, passed away after a lengthy illness on Friday, July 17, 2015 in a Houston, TX hospital. Mrs. Beck was born May 1, 1950 in Lake Charles, LA and lived most of her life in the Westlake / Lake Charles area. She was a 1968 graduate of Westlake High School, where she proudly served as the drum major in the band, and attended McNeese State University. She previously worked for the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff Office and as a paralegal. For the past twenty years Mrs. Beck worked as a Calcasieu Court Reporter and was a member of the Louisiana Court Reporting Association. She was a past member of Westwood Baptist Church and attended Water's Edge Church. She was a LSU fan and loved Zydeco music. She also enjoyed crafts of all kinds and loved to share her talents with her family and friends. Her true passion in life was for her family, her grandchildren, and her dogs. She will always be remembered for her love, care and compassion she showed to others. Mrs. Beck is survived by her daughters, Allison Adams and boyfriend, Ed Fontenot, of Moss Bluff and Brandy Hanson and husband Keith of Vinton, LA; brother, James Whitmire and wife Rosemary of Westlake, LA; grandchildren, Stephon Fallon and Brandon Fallon, both of Tampa, FL and Chynna Adams and Gabby Adams, both of Moss Bluff; one great-grandchild, Lynli Savanah Fallon; close friends, Linda Meek and Susie Ellender, both of Westlake, LA; her beloved dogs, Tina Turner, Lil' Boy, and Marley; and her granddog, Big D; along with numerous other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Lloyd Beck; parents, Jack and Alice McLellan; sister, Peggy Whitmire Abshire; and close friend, O.R. "Skip" Raimer. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Deacon George Carr will officiate. Burial will follow in Magnolia Cemetery in Westlake, LA. Visitation will be on Monday from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM and continue on Tuesday from 8:00 AM until the start of the service.
