Jackie Rozas Deshotels. 71, of Lake Charles passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 29, 2014 in her residence with her loving family at her side. Jackie was born on January 14, 1943 in Orange, Texas to the parents of Hattie and Dudley Rozas. She lived most of her life in the Lake Charles area. Mrs. Deshotels was a 1960 graduate of LaGrange Senior High School. She also attended McNeese State University. Mrs. Deshotels worked for 30 years and retired from the State of Louisiana working for the Department of Children and Family Services. She was a member of St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church. Mrs. Deshotels loved to travel and welcome people over for fellowship. She enjoyed cooking for her family. Mrs. Deshotels was loyal and devoted to her family and friends. She is survived by her loving and faithful companion of 25 years, Wilfred Louviere of Lake Charles, LA, one daughter, Paula Deshotels Miller and husband Matt of Jennings, LA, three sons, Johnny Ray Deshotels and his wife Kathryn of the Woodlands, TX, David Deshotels and wife Sherrie of Kinder, LA, and Alex Deshotels and wife Marcie of Butler, AL, three brothers, Frank Dan Rozas, Keith Soileau and wife Katie all of Lake Charles, LA, and Tony Soileau of Westlake, LA, two sisters, Bonnie Rozas Hicks and husband Travis of Leesville, LA, and Connie Soileau Manuel and husband Charles of Ville Platte, LA, and thirteen grandchildren. Mrs. Deshotels is preceded in death by her parents, Hattie and Dudley Rozas, and one brother, Johnny Rozas. She will be remembered as a lady of faith and during life and while facing death, she carried herself with dignity and class. Jackie and her family would like to express their extreme gratitude to the wonderful people of Brighton Bridge Hospice who compassionately cared for Jackie during her final days. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, December 1, 2014 at 10:00 AM at St. Martin de Porres. Father Keith Pellerin will officiate. Burial will be in Consolata under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will begin on Sunday at 11 AM until 8:00 PM with a scripture service to be held at 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue at 8:00 AM on Monday in the funeral Home until 9:30 AM.
