Jake Dorsey Burgin

Jake D. Burgin, 90, of Lake Charles died on Saturday, November 26, 2011 in a local hospital.

Mr. Burgin was a native of McNary and has lived in Lake Charles since 1945. He was a Charter member of Boulevard Baptist Church. He served many years as a deacon and the Building and Grounds superintendent. He was employed as an operator at Cities Service, retiring after 37 1/2 years.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Mildred J. Burgin and his two sons, James D. Burgin and Bobbie R. Burgin.

He is survived by his two daughters, LaNora Kay. LeJeune and her husband David L. LeJeune; as well as Audry Fontenot and her husband Robert D. Fontenot and one daughter-in-law, Sandra Burgin; 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren who will miss their PawPaw.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at 1PM at Johnson Funeral Home. The Rev. Theron Watson will officiate. Burial will follow at Prien Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will begin at Johnson Funeral Home from 3PM-9PM Monday and will continue Tuesday from 8AM until time of service.
