James Albert “Jim” Mitchell passed away on Sunday May 29, 2016 in Lake Charles, at a local healthcare facility, following a lengthy illness.
Mr. Mitchell was born in Toledo, Ohio on September 2, 1943 to Albert and Betty Mae Kriedler Mitchell. He served the in United States Navy and was a Veteran of Vietnam. He worked as a Piping Designer Draftsman in the Petro Chemical industry. He resided for many years in Southern California, Texas and Louisiana. His passion was Dodge and Chrysler cars and trucks, everything from repair to racing. He also enjoyed building model cars and boats. Mr. Mitchell was a member of Masonic Lodge #165 and a life-time member of the NRA.
He is survived by his sister, Marsha (Gary) Trahan; two sons, Kelly (Mistie) Mitchell of Lake Charles and Scott Mitchell and nieces and nephews.
The family of Mr. Mitchell wishes to express heartfelt thanks to the nurses and staff of Landmark of Lake Charles, Heart of Hospice and Chennault Place.
Private interment services with Military honors will be held at a later date in Mimosa Pines South Cemetery.
