James B. Leblanc

James B. “Bert” LeBlanc, 81, of Sulphur passed away on September 9, 2023, surrounded by his loved ones.
Bert was an avid supporter of Boy Scouts of America in which he obtained the title of Assistant Scout Director of Troop 33 based out of Sulphur, Louisiana. During his time in scouts, he was active in the training of future Cub Scouts as well as Boy Scouts. Bert obtained the District Award of Merit and the Carter Simpson Award for being an exemplary model of what a devoted Boy Scout leader should be. Bert loved attending bingo with his wife and eldest son, spontaneous trips to Kaplan to visit his sister and various nieces and nephews, traveling during the summer to take his granddaughter and grandson to a new place every year, he attended every sporting event that his grandchildren were involved with always cheering them on. Berts great granddaughters were the shining light of his life, and he spent every second he could with them. Bert obtained his diploma from Sulphur High School. Shortly after graduating high school, he was employed at Pitt Grill and Augustine’s before finding his forever work family at Stine Lumber where he stayed for 33 years before retiring with his wife.
Those left to cherish Berts memories are his wife of 58 years, Janis Leblanc; youngest son Dominic LeBlanc, and wife Rashonda; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Arabie and husband Christian, Nicalas Leblanc, Alexis Mouton, Anna Taylor, Kayden Taylor, and Noah Bird, two great granddaughters or grand princesses; as he said Adeline and Avery Arabie; one sister Ruby LeBlanc; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his oldest son Mitchell LeBlanc, parents Ignace and Edith LeBlanc; half-sister, Rita; half-brothers, Clarence LeBlanc, Clarence Leger, Beb Leger, Daniel LeBlanc and Presley LeBlanc; one brother, Junior LeBlanc; and various aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at 3 P.M. on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at Johnson and Robison Funeral home in Sulphur. The family will begin receiving friends at 12 P.M. with a rosary being said at 2 P.M. and service to follow.
