James B. LeJeune, 84, of Lake Charles, died Tuesday June 6, 2017 at a local care center following an extended illness.
James was a native of Hathaway and a longtime resident of the Lake Charles and Iowa area. He honorably and faithfully served our country in the United States Navy and he was an accomplished fast pitch softball player while enlisted. He later worked for Schlumberger Offshore, retiring early at age 52. He then attended SOWELA, graduating with refrigeration and air conditioning. He was a dedicated member of the Knights of Columbus, having achieved fourth degree status.
Preceding James in death are his parents, Amay and Edia Miller LeJeune; sisters, Eula Mae and Ada Lee; brother, Joe and daughter-in-law Lisa.
He leaves to honor his memory four sons, Wayne LeJeune, Lafayette; Ken LeJeune, LeBlanc; Mark LeJeune and wife Cyndi, Moss Bluff; and David LeJeune and wife Maria of Bognor Regis, UK; grandchildren, Jonathan LeJeune, Samantha LeJeune, Jamie LeJeune, Jessica LeJeune and Fiancé Sean Tucker, Jimmy LeJeune and wife Claudia and Jared LeJeune and wife Kyla; great grandchildren, Jayce and Addison LeJeune; brothers, Eugene, Bobby and Bootsie LeJeune; extended family, Ms. Nell LaBauve, Jerry and Carol Terry, Barbara and Wayne Thibodeaux and Alaine.
Visitation will begin at 4:00 PM on Friday June 9, 2017 at Johnson Funeral Home and continue until a Rosary to be led by the Knights of Columbus. Private family interment will be at a later date at Consolata Cemetery.
