James Carl O'Quain

March 28, 1925 — August 6, 2011

James Carl OQuain, 86, of Sulphur, passed away on August 6, 2011 in his residence. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at 2p.m. at Robison Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steve Shirley officiating. Burial will be in Farquar Cemetery under the direction of Robison Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Monday, August 8, 2011 from 3-9p.m. in the funeral home and will resume on Tuesday at 8a.m. until time of service. James was a native and lifelong resident of Sulphur. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for W.T. Burton all of his life. He also worked as a roughneck, truck driver, sugar cane cutter and a ranch hand. James is survived by his four sons, Bobby Wayne Bingo OQuain and wife, Sarah of Sulphur, Jerry Lee OQuain of Lafayette, Frank OQuain and wife, Wanda and Thomas Mitchell OQuain and wife, Gwen all of Sulphur, five daughters, Margaret Jane Wing and husband, Ormand Pat , Patsy Ann Nelson and husband, John , Sheryl Ruth White and husband, Lawrence Duke , Valery Gail OQuain all of Sulphur and Debra Ann Butts of Alabama, one sister, Nellie Grace Sue Smith of Sulphur, one brother, Nathanal Nat OQuain of Sulphur, 24 grandchildren, 59 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Lawrence Joseph OQuain and wife, Gladys OQuain.
