James Dean Marcantel, 49, of Lake Charles, died Sunday, May 29, 2011 in the comfort of his home.
Mr. Marcantel was a life long resident of Lake Charles. He was a graduate of Barbe High School and worked nearly twenty five years as a painter in the construction industry. He enjoyed vegetable gardening, fishing, camping, four wheeler riding and most enjoyed barbequing. He was also an antique collector.
He will be remembered for the time and special interest he took with his mom and his family.
Mr. Marcantel leaves a statement for many to consider, "I have made many mistakes in life; I wish people could see what I've become".
He leaves to honor his memory, his son, Jared Dean Riley; mother, Joyce Simon Marcantel; sister, Jody Ann Frazier and fiance' Max Fontenot, all of Lake Charles; one brother, John Ation Marcantel, Jr. and wife Sheila of AR, half sister, Stephanie Lynn Marcantel of Lake Charles; two nieces; two nephews; one great-niece and two great nephews. He also leaves his life partner, Debbie VanSlyke of Lake Charles.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Marcantel, Sr.
With respect of Mr. Marcantels' wishes, his body was cremated. Private interment for the family will be at Consolata Cemetery.
