James Edward "Man" Jones

James Edward “Man” Jones, 80, went to be with the Lord on Sunday April 17, 2016.

James was born on December 29, 1935 in Gum Cove, LA to Elward and Mildred Fontenot Jones. He loved growing his own grapes to make wine, gardening and was an avid wood worker. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend.

James was preceded in death by his parents; 1 son, Gilbert Jones; 3 brothers, Raymond Lee Jones, Joseph Calvin Jones and John David Towner; 2 sisters, Della Mae Jones Simon and Carolyn Marie Jones.

Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memories are his loving and caring wife of 61 years, Theresa Gradney Jones; 5 sons and 2 daughters-in-law, Charles and Diana Jones, Kenneth Jones, Ronald and Bernadine Jones, Donald Jones and Albert Jones; 1 daughter and son-in-law, Leslie and Gregory Lewis, Sr.; 2 brothers, Michael and Patrick Jones; A host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be conducted at 10 AM Saturday April 23, 2016 from the chapel of Johnson Funeral Home with Rev. Joseph Jourdan and Pastor Mike Honore officiating. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Lake Charles, LA.

Family will receive friends on Saturday from 9 AM till time of service.
