Gone from our lives, but not from our hearts James Edward "Ed" Morgan, 90 passed away on Thursday, July 10, 2014 in his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Ringgold, LA on April 21, 1924 and has lived in Sulphur for the past 27 years. Ed served his country in the United States Coast Guard during WWII. Ed retired from Texaco in 1986. He is a member of Sulphur First Baptist Church, he loved to golf and was an avid baseball fan. Ed is survived by his wife, Nell Sparks Morgan of Sulphur; daughter Glenda Morgan Phillips and husband Frank Phillips of Sulphur, LA; son, Gary Morgan and wife, Janet Morgan of Noble, MO; 4 grandchildren, Stacey Phillips Regan, Stephen Todd Phillips, Jeffrey Scott Phillips, and Shelly Phillips Tanous; 8 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; Arch and Winnie Morgan and his brother J.D. Morgan. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 14, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Sulphur First Baptist Church with Dr. David Holder officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday, July 14, 2014 from 1 p.m. at the church until the time of service.
