James Edward Powell

James Powell, 89, of Lake Charles, LA died Thursday, October 9, 2014 in a local hospital. James was born on March 17, 1925 in Frankston, TX to William and Gracie Powell. He was an Air Force World War II Veteran. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge # 462 for 50 plus years. He has lived in the Lake area since 1946. He is a retired maintenance supervisor from Hercules. He is survived by his loving wife, Vivian Ray Brown; two sons, James Ray Powell of Lafayette and Tommy Dwayne Powell of Moss Bluff, LA; one daughter, Patricia Hebert of Westlake, LA; two brothers, W.B. Powell of Moss Bluff, LA and Charles Powell of Bridge City, TX; one sister, Eva Joe Wood, of Medford, Oregon; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents. Services will be at 10:30 AM Saturday, October 11, 2014 at Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM Friday, October 10, 2014 at Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will resume Saturday, October 11, 2014 from 8:00 AM until time of service at Johnson Funeral Home. Rev. James Rivers will officiate.
