James Edward Ritter Jr

James Edward Ritter, Jr., 63, of Moss Bluff, Louisiana, went home to be with Jesus on Wednesday, November 3, 2021. He was born in Kinder, Louisiana, on July 21, 1958.

James attended Reeves High School, graduating in 1976, where he excelled in basketball and track. He was a quiet man and had a passion for knowledge. He was always reading, watching documentaries, and studying his Bible. He enjoyed learning foreign languages, particularly German, as a hobby. He was like a walking encyclopedia and his mind was a treasure trove of all the information he had gathered in his 63 years. He also loved music and was a talented musician, playing the guitar and piano. He always enjoyed entertaining others with his music.

The greatest joy of James’s life was knowing Jesus as his Savior. He loved spending time with his family and absolutely loved being a grandfather to his four grandchildren. He was immensely proud to cheer on his grandsons on the SWLA Knights basketball team, and he proudly encouraged his granddaughters to learn to play the piano. Family barbecues, game nights, and making people laugh were among his favorite pastimes.

He was employed as a Digital Tech for AT&T for 18 years.

James is survived by his wife of thirty-seven years, Harriet Adams Ritter; two stepdaughters, Connie Rose and husband David of Moss Bluff, Stacey Armond and husband Chad of League City, Texas, and son, Isaac Ritter of Moss Bluff; four grandchildren, Andrew and Nathan Rose, and Lily and Anna Armond.

Honoring James’s wishes, a private ceremony was held, and cremation was entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home.
