James Floyd Higgins, 86 of DeQuincy passed away of April 1, 2013 in his residence. James was a WWII Veteran serving his country in the Navy. He worked as a boilermaker for CBI and loved to read western books. James is survived by his wife of 26 years, Lucy Freeman Higgins of DeQuincy; two daughters, Debra Rogers and husband, Kent and Debra Carter and husband, Arthur; four sons, Mark Higgins and wife, Donna, Aaron Higgins and wife Melanie, Robert Higgins and wife, Becky and Greg Foster; 15 grandchildren, Mark Rogers, Tiffany Cormier, Christina Johnson, Sabrina Mitchell, James Higgins, Andy Higgins, Joshua Higgins, Whitney Higgins, Robert Lee Higgins, Brandi Manuel, Jeremy Thomas, Brandon Carter, Amanda Carter, Summer Crapell and Ferrall Foster; and 15 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Violet Bellard Higgins and son Floyd Lee Higgins. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at 3:30p.m. at Robison Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steve Shirley officiating. Burial was in Antioch Big Woods Cemetery under the direction of Robison Funeral Home.
