James " Jay" Pierre Jr., 54, departed this life on March 31, 2015. Mr. Pierre was born on October 3, 1960, to the late James and Beatrice Pierre. Jay's departure to his eternal home in Heaven left sadness in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He was lovingly known as "Jay" to family and friends. Jay was the first born son and the sixth of nine children, all born in San Fernando, Trinidad. After high school graduation in St. Croix, US Virgin Islands, Jay enlisted in the US Army. He was stationed at Fort Rucker, AL, Fort Polk, LA, and Camp Zama, Japan. He proudly served as a HUEY Helicopter mechanic and was discharged with honors as a Specialist. He went on to pursue his life long career as an aircraft mechanic/ QA Inspector. He was previously employed by Boeing, Northrop Grumman, and was currently employed at ExpressJet Airlines, a subsidiary of United Airlines. He leaves to cherish his precious memories, his wife of 34 years, Victoria Chenier Pierre, his daughters, Jameeka Pierre, Chivonne Williams (Shane), Mariah Pierre; his grandchildren, Madison and Cameron Williams, all of Lake Charles, LA; one brother, Paul Pierre (Linda) of Dickinson, TX; six sisters, Merle George (Rodney), Erica Henry, Ann Marie John, Anastasia Spivey (Ernest), Vanessa Traylor (Jimmie), all of Houston, TX, Monica Oliver (Roland) of Atlanta, GA and Sandra Cephas (Oral) of Roanoke, VA; one godson, Andre' Oliver (Krystil) of Atlanta, GA; and a host of relatives, in laws, nieces, nephews, and friends. Jay was preceded in death by his parents. A Funeral Mass will be at 1:00 PM Saturday, April 11, 2015 at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Father Marcus Johnson will officiate. Interment will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation Saturday will be from 9:00 AM until 12:30 PM in the funeral home. Tributes, honoring his life, will begin at 10:30 AM followed by a rosary beginning at 11:30 AM in the funeral home.
