James "Jim" E. Ham

February 22, 1943 — July 31, 2016

James E. “Jim” Ham, 73, of Lake Charles passed away Sunday July 31, 2016 in an Alexandria hospital.

 

Jim was born in Bedford, Indiana on February 22, 1943. He moved to Houston, Texas in 1955 and moved to Lake Charles in 1969 where he was employed by the Aetna Finance Company prior to going to work at CITGO Petroleum. He retired from Citgo as a Console Operator and Cat Area Shift Foreman after 31 years (1972-2003).  After retirement Jim and his wife, Tammie McCain Ham moved to Alexandria, Louisiana in 2012.  Jim and Tammie were married for 47 years.  Jim proudly served his Country in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1961 thru 1966.  He served a year of reserve duty which terminated in 1967.

 

Jim was preceded in death by his mother, June Elizabeth; his father, George E. Ham; his brother, G. Michael Ham; and his beloved granddaughter, Jade Elizabeth Travis.

 

Surviving Family includes his wife, Tammie McCain Ham of Lake Charles; daughter, Tara Ham Travis (husband- Bret Allon Travis) of Alexandria; granddaughter, Carsyn Rae Travis of Alexandria; brother, Gary L. Ham; and 2 nieces and 4 nephews.

 

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, August 4, 2016 at Highland Memory Garden Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. The Rev. Sorin Munteanu will officiate.
