James “Jim” Robert Kytle, 89, passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2018 at West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital with his son by his bedside. Jim was born in Ada, OK to Bob and Bernice Kytle and was a longtime resident of Sulphur. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church. Jim worked for Southern Pacific Railroad Southern Pacific Transport until they closed and then went to work at Yellow Freight until his retirement. Jim was a decorated veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean conflict.
Jim is survived by his son, Robert “Bud” William Kytle of Sulphur; sisters in law, Chandis Hudson of Sulphur and Helen Thomas of Carlyss; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Doreen Thomas Kytle and his parents.
Funeral services for Jim will be held on Friday, January 26, 2018 at 2 PM at Wesley United Methodist Church in Sulphur under the direction of Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Mimosa Pines North. The family will receive friends from 1 PM until the time of service at the church.
