James “Jim” Patrick Moss, Sr., 71, of Lake Charles, LA, died at 1:58 PM on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 in a local hospital.
Mr. Moss was born November 29, 1946 in Lake Charles, LA, where he was a lifelong resident. He attended LaGrange High School and served his country for four years in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He was the owner / operator of Action Electric for over twenty years and most recently worked for Central Crude. Mr. Moss attended Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. He enjoyed golfing with his buddies, spending time at his camp at Toledo Bend and cooking outdoors. He also supported and helped cook for the Barbe Booster Club for many years and was a diehard LSU, Barbe High School and New Orleans Saints fan. He was always full of life and loved practical jokes, but especially loved spending time with his family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will always be remembered as a loving and excellent husband and father and will be missed dearly.
Mr. Moss is survived by his wife of fifty-years, Juanita Moss; son, James Patrick Moss, Jr. and wife Kellie; daughter, Shelly Moss and husband Josh Bernard, all of Lake Charles, LA; grandchildren, McKenzie Moss, Noah Keller, Ian Moss and Emma Moss: great-grandchildren, Jansen and Jace Moss; and numerous friends and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and three sisters.
His memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, January 14, 2018 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Deacon Harold Nixon will officiate. A gathering of family members and friends will be at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:00 PM until the start of the service, with a Rosary at 2:30 PM.
