James "Jim" Patrick Cole

August 8, 1944 — March 24, 2022

James “Jim” Patrick Cole, 77, of Westlake, LA, passed away on Thursday, March 24, 2022 in a local hospital.

Mr. Cole was born August 8, 1944 in Lake Charles, LA, attended Marion High School and lived in Westlake, LA since the early 1970’s.  He worked as a driver in the compressed gas business for forty-two years and attended Moss Bluff Bible Church.  Jim enjoyed fishing, searching for treasures at flea markets and enjoyed time with his friends at the American Legion Post #407 in Westlake.  He will always be remembered as a loving and wonderful father and grandfather, who enjoyed playing pranks and telling jokes.

Mr. Cole is survived by his children, Penny Lyles and husband Terry of Moss Bluff, Roderick J. Fontenot of Iowa, LA, Paula All and husband Randy of Kinder, Krystle Richard and husband Nick of Moss Bluff, and Darren “Boogie” Fontenot of Moss Bluff; grandchildren, Tarrah, Taylor, Cory, Dalton, Tristan, Lorin, Lennox, Addison, Laken, and Austin; and great-grandchildren, Jenna, Amara, and Jude.

He was preceded in death by his daughter and son-in-law, Lisa Ann and Robert LeBaron; parents, Pat Cole and Vera Sellers; sister, Frances Langley; grandchildren, Kandace Lyles and Garrett All; and great-grandchild, Justin Rials.

His funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, March 28, 2022 at Johnson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff.  Reverend Richard Rials will officiate.  Burial will follow in LeBlanc Cemetery in LeBlanc, LA.  Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM on Monday, until the start of the service.
